UGK man from the first to the last album will always be the greatest from the south and that's real talk from ARKANSAS. If u can't feel the tight flows and beats u dont't anything about southern rap tunes. Pimp C rip u will always be missud but Bub B u keep doing what u do. I will always be a true fan.
Now about the Beats
No one can mess with he beats on this album either.I was shocked to Hear how well Snoop sounded on the track. (I see more collaborations in the future). The southern beats aginst the Sanford&son breaks and Q. Terrintino type guitar riffs found on the Album are fire.
UGK is an institution
I grasped hold of UGK with Super tyte. and aint let go since. I was in ATL back then and so Outkast and and the goodie was fire. But when I heard "PINKY RINGS". it was a rap. UGK keeps it 1hundred. and on the real I could never see them being fraudulent. I like the references to the movie the "MACK" young heads should cop that movie after they grab this Album (just dont use any mathematics you see in that flick, any, add it up). I was in San Antonio back in 99 when the Spurs won that short season. and had to hit up H town and P.A. everyone bumped the UGK. when I moved to Norfolk it was the same deal. Now Im in Ohio and yup, UGK is still beatin down my block. Thanks Bun and Pimp.I Love the new and old the real and the trill that is UGK.

This album is another Ugk great. I had a cousin who was writing raps and of course I began writing raps. I wasn't sure if people was prepared for my kind of lyrics. Around 98 when the downloading went crazy, I started downloading UGK. After hearing all their tracks, I became the biggest UGK fan. I have been listening to UGK every since. When I say listening, I mean I jam off of UGK everyday. Pimp gave me a reason to be me on tha mic. He was a young country dude getting bread, he was a young pimp, and he talked just like me. Meaning he was always going to tell you exactly whats on his mind and always talked this pimp s*** like no other. Both of my favorite rappers is dead(BIGGIE N CHAD) and as long as I live, I'll always rep them guys. Bun is one real a** dude and also one of the greateset to ever grab a microphone. Keep ya head up Bun, its still UGK 4 Life. SMOKE SUMTHING B****
Still UGK 4 Life
As a UGK fan, I was picked up along the way in 1999 when the songs Big Pimpin' and Holdin 'Na began playing here in Dallas. However it wasnt until Pimp C passed that I became addicted to UGK. After buying every album, I awaited impatiently for UGK 4 life. This review of the album is according to my opinion, im sure everyone else will think differently.
Its an akward feeling when you hear Pimp C speaking even though he's gone but not forgoten. "Check 1,2,1,2 Bitch, Uhh... Back from the dead... Hol'up, Its still UGK for life..." any other intro would not beat that. As I bump this new UGK album I can still feel the roots are well planted in the Ridin Dirty soil. The beats are a deep classic bite of UGK. Everybody Wanna Ball instantly became my favorite out of this album. There is some experimentation a little bit of II Trill in this album, but the bass and guitar chords are truely Pimp C's beats. As I had guessed the chorus is from Big Pimpin: "Everybody wanna ball, Holla at broads at the mall..." Further in the album the theme's are not new but the way to tell it is unheard of. In addition, the Ridin Dirty inspiration seems to fade and a new tone emerges that reminds me of Bun's II Trill album. UGK fans know Pimp and Bun's explict lyrics contain sexual, violent, and drug related themes. "She Luv It" come lyrically close to songs like "Use me Up", I'm So Bad, or "Something Good. The way Pimp C's singing reminds me of Jeezy's "...and I love It" but his killer verse's say what real pimps and playa's want to hear. The slick southern slang coming from Pimp really isolates UGK from any other music in the rap/hip-hop genre including Houston's rap. "Harry A**hole" takes me back to Super Tight album with a beat from "I Left It Wet For You," but the explict lyrics are completely new and true. "Used to Be" bangs hard as I drive through my city. I find a strong connection in "Used to Be" with the music from Slim Thug's Boss of all Bosses, I almost wish Slim Thug was in it too. "Hard as Hell" is definately radio bound as a new hit for UGK ft. Akon. This should be the next single released to draw attention after "Da Game Been Good to Me." As I stated in another post, If Bun B made an animated music video bringing Pimp C back to life for all the fans, it would be a hit for MTV and BET. In the outro Bun B close's the final album by stating that "We are the Underground Kingz, in case ya'll did'nt know."
Over all as a UGK fan the album remains true by mixing in the past, present, and new material with originality. I rate it four stars total as it is a must have for all UGK fans. I get the feeling that this is not the last we will hear from UGK. Bun B keep your head up and carry on this legacy I look forward to "Trill O.G." and sure cannot wait for "The Naked Soul of Sweet James Jones." Fans show support and make this album go platinum. It's UGK for life. Rest in peace Chad Butler, even though trill niggas don't die.
